BMW specialists — from E-series to G-series

BMW is the other German pillar of our workshop. We're set up to properly diagnose, service, repair and tune BMW vehicles from the E90 generation through the F-series and into the current G-series line-up. That includes everything from a 320d service right up to full F8x M3/M4 builds.

We run genuine BMW ISTA diagnostic software. ISTA is BMW's dealer-level diagnostic platform — it's the same tool used in main dealers and the only way to carry out certain coding operations, software updates and guided fault-finding procedures correctly on modern BMWs.

Based just off the M4 in the Slough / Iver SL0 area, we serve drivers across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and West London — including Langley, Windsor, Staines, Uxbridge and Maidenhead.

Coding, programming and retrofits

Most BMW features that are disabled from the factory can be unlocked via coding — from enabling digital speedometers and launch control to retrofitting apps, folding mirrors and welcome-home lights. We carry out coding through ISTA and the appropriate BMW dealer tooling.

Software updates are increasingly important too. Modern BMWs get regular ECU, gearbox and comfort control module updates — many of which resolve known drivability complaints.

Known issues, fixed once

Certain BMW platforms have well-known issues — N47 timing chains, N20 chains, N55 charge pipes, F10 M5 rod bearings, S65 rod bearings, VANOS solenoids. We've seen them all and we know the right way to fix each one. We'll give you a straight answer on what needs doing and what doesn't.

M-car servicing and optional tuning

The F-series and G-series M cars — M2, M3, M4, M5, M8 — get the same service-first treatment. Proper oil, proper intervals, proper brake fluid. When you want more, a properly developed Stage 1 map and gearbox recalibration transforms them. We tune S55, S58 and S63 engines in-house with full logging.

Every service follows the same disciplined sequence. No steps skipped, no surprises on the final bill.

    ISTA full scan

    Read every module in the car, check current iLevel, list all stored and shadow faults. Identify any open recall campaigns.

  2. STEP 0230 min

    Mechanical inspection

    Lift the car, check for the known issues on your specific chassis — N47 chain, N20 chain, N55 charge pipe, S65 rod bearings, etc.

  3. STEP 03Same day

    Written report + quote

    Every finding documented with photos where relevant. Fixed-price quote for parts and labour before any work begins.

  4. STEP 04Varies

    Repair / coding

    Work carried out to BMW factory procedures with genuine or OEM parts. Software updates and coding via ISTA where needed.

  5. STEP 0530 min

    Road test + CBS update

    Post-repair road test under load. CBS counters reset, service interval updated in the vehicle memory.

What to bring

Do you use genuine BMW ISTA?

Yes. ISTA is BMW's dealer-level diagnostic platform and the only way to properly diagnose and code most modern BMWs. We run ISTA in our workshop and use it on every diagnostic job.

Can you code features into my BMW?

Many factory-disabled features can be enabled via coding. Common examples include digital speedometers, welcome lights, folding mirrors, cornering fog lights and launch control on M-cars. Tell us the car and what you want — we'll confirm what's possible before you book.

Will servicing with you affect my BMW warranty?

No. UK and EU law protects your right to service your car at an independent garage without losing the manufacturer warranty, provided the work is done to BMW's schedule with parts of matching quality. We follow BMW Condition-Based Service intervals and use genuine or OEM parts.

Do you work on M2, M3 and M4 cars?

Yes. The F87 M2, F80 M3, F82 M4, G80/G82 and older E9x M3s are regulars in the workshop. We service them, tune them, fix known issues and build them out for track use when asked.

My BMW has a timing chain rattle — can you fix it?

Yes. Timing chain issues on N47 diesels and early N20 petrols are a known problem. We replace the full chain kit, guides and tensioner to BMW specification. Book a diagnostic first — we'll confirm the fault and give you a written, fixed-price quote.

What's the story with S55 charge pipe failures?

The factory S55 (F80 M3, F82 M4, F87 M2 Competition) charge pipe is a known weak point — it's plastic where it should be metal, and it splits under boost, usually around 30–40k miles or sooner on remapped cars. Fix is an aftermarket aluminium charge pipe (VRSF, Wagner, AMS) fitted in under 2 hours. We stock the common ones and it's a must-do before any Stage 1 map on the S55 platform.

Do you carry out coding and retrofits?

Yes — anything ISTA can unlock. Popular requests: video-in-motion, digital speedometer, launch control enable, folding mirrors, cornering fog lights, sport display retrofit, bootlid badge delete. We confirm what's possible on your specific FA / iLevel before quoting. More involved retrofits that need physical hardware (e.g. adaptive cruise) are quoted case-by-case.

Can you tune the N55 and B58 engines?

Yes — both are popular platforms. N55 (pre-LCI M135i, M235i, M2) responds well to a Stage 1 map, typically +60bhp / +90Nm. B58 (M140i, M240i, M340i, M440i, Supra A90) responds even better due to its closed-deck block and improved fuelling, with Stage 1 typically +70bhp / +110Nm and much stronger mid-range.
